With a passing interest in electrics myself, I often wonder what types of things electricians carry in their tool boxes or vans. This might seem a little mundane, but builders’ tools are obvious, as are gardeners’ tools and painters and decorators’ tools of the trade, so I decided to look a bit further into it, and what better source to find this information than my local Walsall electrical supplies specialist? I must say, the sheer number and variety of electrical tools available was almost overwhelming, but I’ve managed to whittle it down to what I think the average domestic electrician will have in his box or van, here they are:
- Circuit Testers
- LED Tubes
- Plug Sockets
- Electrical Wire
There are loads more pieces of equipment and tools available but I’m not going to list them because I don’t know what they are or what they’re designed to do!
Electricians – What do they do?
Obviously, the name ‘electrician’ implies they work with electric but what type of jobs do they do in the average family home? What would you call an electrician for? Aside from the obvious unexpected blackouts, electricians carry out a multitude of tasks in homes throughout the country. If your cooker doesn’t work or you need additional sockets in your home, you’d call an electrician, if you’ve fitted a new kitchen and need holes for cables, you’d call an electrician. Their tasks, like their tools and equipment is seemingly endless but at the end of day we’re happy to see them when we need them.
