How Rick Casper Reads Into the Modern Studies About the Geology of Diamonds

Understanding and reading the Mother Nature is indeed a tough job, and people cannot find the right way out to get a proper hand into it. However, the research into the natural diamonds has emerged over the last few decades as one of the key areas which help in understanding the earth and what remains at its core. Rick Casper, who has been studying about these diamonds and their geology, finds the characteristics to be fascinating. And hence, he believes that one who goes through them in minute details will get to know about the nature of the Earth more precisely.

However, before starting learning more about nature, there are specific terms which they must be acquainted with.

Some Important Terms to Know According to Rick Casper Before Heading With Geology

Carbon Abundance- The most common of all mineral available aplenty on the Earth is carbon, and since it is widely dissolved in the silicate minerals, it finds the potential to take the form of Diamond. Carbon is the only element that can occur at the heart of the Earth in oxidized forms when reacts with gases like Hydrogen and Oxygen. When it oxidizes with Oxygen, it takes the form of CO2 and CO3, and the reduced states of these oxidized forms are Diamond and Graphite. This same Carbon when oxidizes with Hydrogen, it forms Methane and other organic molecules. Studies have shown that Diamond can potentially develop in any region of the earth, and this is the only reason behind the formation of Diamonds.

Of all the planets that are present in the Solar System, it is believed that Earth is unique to all, and there are substantial reasons behind this as well. It is the only planet which has got two crustal types at its heart- the oceanic and the continental. However, there is a significant difference in its distance and this due to the elements that stay at its core. As the continental crust is formed at least a few billion years back, it is isolated from the rest of the belts.

Geology is one of the most interesting of all subjects that are being discussed today and going by the trends, and it is the plate tectonics that adds to the interests of many. It is by far the most modern and is considered to be the unifying theory that is active in most of the geologic processes. According to Rick Casper, there is no other planet which seems to have plate tectonics and depending on the layers at which it rests, the entire formation of Geology depends. The movement of the plates happens on the mobile portion which is considered to be the asthenosphere. Many more new scopes can be dealt with but are beyond the scope of the article.

Geologists have dedicated their entire life in dealing with these facts which were once considered to be fiction. The deeper you delve into this mystery, the clearer it gets for you.
